7 Lakes Hike in Ausangate

The hike begins in the village of Pachanta after a 3-hour drive from the city of Cusco. Along the way, we will see beautiful streams formed by glacial meltwater, as well as llamas and alpacas grazing in the surrounding landscape. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of hiking, we will reach the stunning lakes of Apu Ausangate. We will also encounter local people dressed in their traditional clothing, and at the end of the tour, there will be time to relax in the medicinal hot springs of Pachanta.

ITINERARY

Ausangate 7 Lakes Day Tour Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. and then drive for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to the starting point of the hike, the village of Pacchanta. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast before beginning our adventure.

The gradual uphill hike to Patacocha Lake takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes. From this point, we will begin to see the different lakes located near Ausangate. The highest point of the hike reaches approximately 4,750 meters above sea level, where we will enjoy breathtaking views of most of the lagoons and the surrounding glaciers.

During the descent back to the village of Pacchanta, we will continue visiting more lakes, with Azulcocha being the last one. Once back in Pacchanta, we will have lunch and enjoy some time to relax in the medicinal hot springs. Afterward, we will return to the city of Cusco and drop you off at your respective hotel.
